Discover the beautiful east coast of Ilha Formosa with a trip to Hualien and Taroko Gorge. Paying a visit to Taiwan's second biggest National Park, you'll take in quiet stretches of beach, deep gorges, and steep, rugged mountains. Home to a number of Taiwan's 16 aboriginal tribes, this part of Taiwan has remained largely untouched by the constant development so apparent on the west coast and still resembles the pristine, lush island landscape the Portuguese first saw when they christened Taiwan 'Ilha Formosa' in the 16th century. Your tour will take you around some of the region's most beautiful locations where you can see up close for yourself how beautiful Taiwan is. When the day's fun is over, your private driver and guide will drive you back down to sea level at Hualien where you'll be dropped off directly at your hotel, hostel, or B&B.
